Ms. Kitty Repair Fund

The Mt. Shasta Nordic snow cat, which years ago gained the moniker “Ms. Kitty,” has had a rough season. She suffered a variety of fluid leaks during the early season, while making do with minimal snow coverage. Then, at the end of January, in the process of trying to pack out the first big dump of the season, she suffered a catastrophic overheating episode from which she never recovered. It was a sad week at the Nordic Center as we held out hope we could get her to fire up again and limp through the rest of the season, but to no avail.

We're getting the cat motor remanufactured & replacing a fair number of aging bits as we go. While the mechanics are volunteering their time, we still expect to spend about $25,000 on parts to get Ms. Kitty back on the snow.
