Closure of all National Forests in California are being enforced by the following procedures…

•Closure information is being shared widely to educate people – All National Forests in California are currently closed to public entry (that’s for everything!)

•Information is posted throughout the communities at businesses in Mt. Shasta, McCloud, Weed, and Dunsmuir.

•Emails have been sent to various contacts asking them to share the information widely.

•Posted signs at main FS portal entries (South Fork, Parks Creek, Whalen, Military Pass, Squaw Valley Creek, Pilgrim Creek, Harris Springs, etc. etc.)

•Soft closure barricades will be installed.

•Both gates up the Everitt Memorial Highway have been closed (working with and support from the County)

•Gate to Castle Lake Road has been closed (working with and support from the County)

•Closure of the portal gate on the Fowler’s road and placed barricades/info signs boards on other entry roads into the McCloud River Loop Rd area.

•We are hoping that in the next few days we will be able to have FS employees complete patrols and continue to educate the public and ask them to leave.

Thank you for continuing to keep our community and forests safe!
